How to Open the Command Console in Valheim

Valheim, the popular Viking-themed survival game, offers players a vast open world to explore, build, and conquer. While the game is designed to be challenging, there are times when players might want to use console commands to tweak their experience, troubleshoot issues, or simply experiment with the game's mechanics.

Launching Valheim

Before you can access the console commands, you need to have set Valheim to allow console commands.

The console is disabled by default. To enable it:

1. Open Steam
2. Navigate to your Library
3. Right-click on Valheim and select Properties
4. In the Launch Options box at the bottom, type in -console
5. Launch Valheim

Accessing the Console

Once you're in the game:

Press the F5 key on your keyboard. This will bring up the console window.

Before you can use most of the console commands, you'll need to enable cheats. To do this, type devcommands into the console and press Enter.
