Overview
Wood Cutting is one of Valheim's character skills, tracked under the internal ID Wood Cutting. Determines axe damage when hitting trees. Does not impact Axes (Skill). Experience is gained at 1 per attack when hitting a tree (+0.5 when also hitting a creature). At max level (100) it grants +131% damage against trees. Adjust your level from the console with raiseskill Wood Cutting 10 to add 10 points, or resetskill Wood Cutting to wipe it back to 0.

Wood Cutting is a Skill in Valheim.
Higher levels increases chop damage done against susceptible entities (trees, logs, stumps). Stamina cost to swing an axe is not reduced by the Wood Cutting skill, only the axe skill.
Hitting trees with an axe gives woodcutting experience (not axe xp). This can only occur once per swing regardless of the number of trees hit. If a tree and a non-tree is hit in the same swing with an axe, the player will gain xp for both woodcutting and axe skills. If at least one of those was an enemy or player, the player will gain 1.5x for both.
