Overview
Fishing is one of Valheim's character skills, tracked under the internal ID Fishing. Experience is gained at 0.2 per second while reeling (+0.2 with a hooked fish). At max level (100) it grants +200% reeling speed,-80% stamina usage. Adjust your level from the console with raiseskill Fishing 10 to add 10 points, or resetskill Fishing to wipe it back to 0.

About
Fishing is an activity and player skill in Valheim unlocked by obtaining some Fishing bait and a Fishing rod, which allows a source of food and decoration items. Different types of Fish and Bait were introduced in the Mistlands update.
The basic bait can only be obtained from the Merchant, but the rod can either be bought or found in a Frost Cave. It is possible to simply pick up fish without a rod, as they can sometimes be found stranded in shores.
